Jim Lalor Past Bananas Day – 2023

This year we’ll be recognising quite a few “past bananas” and their performances for our great club.

2023 is the 20th anniversary of the First Grade Grand Final win over Caloundra 3-0. There’s nothing better than winning a derby and to do it in a grand final is extra special, with our current U23 Coach Scott Rocker, scoring a hat trick in what was a great night for the club.

Last year was set aside to recognise 2 historic performances for the club but as to the night being called off due to poor weather and match postponements we will also recognise them this year.

2022 was the 25th Anniversary of our first ever Men’s First Grade Grand Final win, a 3-2 golden goal victory against Noosa in 1997. The side was coached by Les “Casper” Fleming and included our current under 13 (2) coach Keith Grisman, whose shirt hangs on the wall in the club.

2022 is also the anniversary of our club’s first ever Senior Grand Final win. It is the 30th anniversary of the Premier Women winning the Grand Final in 1992, coached by none other than the man we are honouring tonight, Jim Lalor. Jim was a huge part of our club for so many years and tonight we as a club honour his memory alongside some of these fantastic achievements by our past players.
