How do I know if the fields are closed for training due to wet weather?

Our fields are owned by Sunshine Coast Council and managed by Sunshine Coast Stadium. Stadium staff are responsible for deciding if the fields can be used &/or if it is safe to train.

Once Kawana FC has been notified of field status, this will be published on our socials and on Coach/Manager chat groups by 3:00pm.

If the Club has not advised of field closure, you can assume they are open.

When does pre-season training start?

We have had a very successful, but sometimes challenging year. Our committee, volunteers, coaches, managers and players all need time off and a chance to regroup for next season. Pre-season training will commence at staggered times across age groups, but not before January. Days & times will be announced via our socials and coaches.

When/how can I register for next season?

Registration dates are determined by Football Qld (FQ). Once the Club has been advised of this date, information will be posted on our website and socials. In the meantime, if you are new to the club, you can fill out an expression of interest via the link on our website www.kawanafc.com.au and we will contact you via email by 15th December 2023.

Registration & payment will be via the Squadi app. Information on how to do this will also be posted.

Can I arrange a payment plan to pay off registration fees over the season?

Payment plans can be set up in Squadi at the time of registration.

Can I use my FairPlay voucher to register?

Yes, definitely. You will need to apply and be approved for the voucher and have it available at the time of registering. You will not be able to pay full fees and then apply the voucher retrospectively. To check eligibility and apply go to Applying for and using FairPlay vouchers | Recreation, sport and arts | Queensland Government (www.qld.gov.au)

If you are using a FairPlay voucher, please note, that any other discounts cannot be used in conjunction.

Can I play with my mates or make a special request?

Our Club registrars try very hard to accommodate all requests. However, due to a variety of reasons such as team numbers, availability of coaches, skill/ability, etc., sometimes it is just not possible. To help manage this, please complete the Registration Survey on our website.

Can I get a refund on my registration fees?

Our Club looks at refund requests on a case-by-case basis in conjunction with the FQ refund policy. Kawana FC will charge a $30 admin fee per registration if the refund is approved and note, Governing Body Fees are not refundable.

I’d like to help at the Club. How can I volunteer?

Kawana FC is run solely by volunteers and as a Club, we are very grateful to everyone who offers to help. We always need more volunteers to help on the committee, in the bar, canteen, coaches/managers, Club Refs, help with set up/pack up and on carnival or event days. If you can spare an hour or commit to a regular role, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out by emailing our Volunteer Coordinator volunteer@kawanafc.com.au. Volunteering is a great way to meet other club members, to give back to your community and to help contribute to our Club’s ongoing growth and success.

How can I become a Sponsor?

Thanks for your interest! Please email our Sponsorship Coordinator, Todd Forrest at president@kawanafc.com.au to enquire about options.

Our team is short of players. Can we borrow from another team/age group/division?

We understand that there will be times when a team may be short of players due to illness, holidays, school camps, study, etc. Team Coaches/Managers must first check with registrations@kawanafc.com.au before borrowing players. There are strict rules governing movement of players and some movements require paperwork to be submitted and approved. Teams and Clubs playing ineligible players can be subject to penalties including loss of points and fines.

Most Clubs have their own policies, so please check Club websites before any away games. At Kawana FC, dogs are not permitted on the grounds. This is a Sunshine Coast Council regulation and we are expected to endorse this. So please leave your dogs at home to avoid being asked to leave the property.
